A really simple way of adding fruit flavours and extra sweetness is that good old jam. Combine roughly a two-part measure of liquor with one part of freshly squeezed citrus and a tablespoon.
Try tequila, strawberry jam and lime;
or vodka, raspberry jam and lemon.
An alternative is that honey or maple syrup also make sweet and deeply flavoursome additions to cocktails.
So dive into your fridge and kitchen cupboard and have fun finding some tasty yet readily available combinations of ingredients.
